Privacy Policy — JUST. for fruit

JUST. for fruit (“JUST.”, “we”, “us”) is developed and published by Eric A. Zarko. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

Information We Collect

We collect only what's necessary to provide the app's features:

Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address. We use this to identify your account and nothing else.
Fruit data. The items you add — names, expiration dates, storage locations, and any notes — are stored in our systems so they can sync across your devices and with your family members.
Photos. If you attach a photo to a fruit item, that image is uploaded to our servers and associated with your account.
Family membership data. If you use Family Sharing, we store the association between your account and the accounts of your family members, along with the invite codes used to establish those connections.
Subscription status. We receive confirmation from Apple that you hold an active subscription. We do not receive your payment details — all billing is handled entirely by Apple.

How We Use Your Information

To sync your fruit data across your devices and with your family members
To send expiration notifications at the times you've configured
To verify your subscription and unlock the appropriate features
To respond to support requests you initiate

We do not use your data for advertising, analytics profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers hosted in the United States. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information in transit and at rest. Access is restricted to what is necessary to operate the service.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except:

Apple. Authentication and subscription management flow through Apple's systems under their privacy policy.
Family members you invite. Fruit data you add is visible to other members of your family account by design.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required to do so by law.

Recipe Search and External Links

When you tap “Find Recipes” on a fruit, the App sends the fruit’s name (for example, “apple”) to TheMealDB to retrieve matching recipes. This request does not include your account, name, email, or any other identifier — only the ingredient you searched for, along with the standard network details (such as your IP address) that any web request carries. TheMealDB’s use of that data is governed by its own privacy policy.

Tapping a recipe row opens the recipe’s source URL in Safari (or your default browser). At that point you are visiting a third-party website over which we have no control, and that site can see your IP address, browser, and any other information your browser normally sends. Each external recipe site has its own terms and privacy policy.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as you have an account with JUST. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at support@justforleftovers.com and we will process your request promptly.

Children’s Privacy

JUST. is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the app. Your continued use of JUST. after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
